I am researching cable providers for a new campaign I am building. I have a hypothesis and need your consumer input.

Hypothesis: Now that cable providers are in essence a commodity, offering similar services and access, their relevance becomes about their emotional value to us as home entertainment.

1. i don’t like them
2. it brings entertainment, pop culture, news, media mostly in HD and on-demand
3. better customer service
4. on demand, hd quality, and simple integration between components
5. price, quality of services, quality of customer service

7. trying to find out. i’m thinking of switching to satellite (directv) if i can no longer stand my cable service

10. drilling new holes into walls when existing cables already exist. also, we haven’t been able to use the dvr for almost 3 months. they sent a technician out to look at it but he said the problem was on their end and it was never taken care of. after calling them several times to complain it is still not working.

no. i am with Time Warner and the internet stinks.
2. How does your cable service provide value to your life?
Keeps me from reading, and it is easy entertainment. I quit renting movies because of on Demand.
3. What do you wish to see in a cable provider?
better picture the internet on my tv and my tv on the internet. i would also want to see on demand video games.
4. What do you desire when it comes to home entertainment?
Premieres of Movies, games, internet content on TV.
5. What would make you switch cable providers?
the ability to see more movies on demand and games and the ability for me to talk to on my friends over the tv

movie and sport package. I can see the spurs for one price.

spurs games

ability to have more functionality like online. ability to get those on demand shows on my phone.
7. Is there a real difference in satellite vs. digital cable?
yes.

satellite does not work if there is bad weather.

confort of being able to enjoy movies, games and music with my friends.

yes. i just bought an iphone and wish i could connect the 2.

sling box, sony p2p and iphone
10. Can you give me an example of a nightmare cable installation or customer service story?
yes. they are all a nightmare. there is not a cable company who can come in and install something in less than 2 weeks.
