The Daily Reel Announces Content Deal with Online Video Artist Casimir Nozkowski
Nozkowski, known for biting, comedic online videos, joins Lisa Nova as a featured artist on The Daily Reel
Los Angeles, CA— Following on the heels of its content deal with YouTube Video star Lisa Nova, The Daily Reel, where the best in Online Video and User Generated Content is showcased, (www.thedailyreel.com <http://www.thedailyreel.com/> ), has inked a content deal with emerging Online Video artist Casimir Nozkowski and satirists Dallas Penn (Dallaspenn.com) and Rafi Kam (Ohword.com) to develop an online video series that chronicles daily life in the Bronx.
The first video in the series, titled “Bodega” is a humorous yet searing commentary about the choices confronting people who live in “the poorest urban county in the country.” Casimir and the creative team of Dallas Penn and Rafi Kam, who most recently collaborated on the video “Ghetto Big Mac,” which was picked by the The Daily Reel as one of the Top 10 Online Videos of 2006, created the video. “Bodega” is live today at The Daily Reel.
Like Lisa Nova, Casimir has made a name for himself on YouTube where his videos have been viewed nearly 200,000 times. He is better known as the co-creator of cryingwhileeating.com <http://cryingwhileeating.com/> , a smash hit site with over 65 million hits to date.
As part of the deal, The Daily Reel and Casimir/Dallas/Rafi will:
· produce videos, which will debut and be prominently displayed on The Daily Reel;
· syndicate the content through other media platforms; and
· work together to monetize his content.
“We are excited to work with such a unique voice in the world of online video,” said Jamie Patricof, co-founder of the The Daily Reel. “His videos are simultaneously humorous and dark, in this case portraying the complexities of life in the ghetto. Casimir’s work is a must watch online. We look forward to partnering with him, Dallas and Rafi and continuing to make the Daily Reel the number one place for the best online video on the Internet.”
“Adding Casimir to our lineup of online video talent underscores The Daily Reel’s commitment to find and bring viewers the best talent and voices online,” said Jeff Stern, co-founder of The Daily Reel. “These voices can run the gamut from straight comedy to powerful social commentary.”
“Our videos are essentially us launching ourselves at a subject or landscape we find compelling and seeing what happens when we stir it up, talk to real people and get to the bottom of urban survival,” Casimir said. “Becoming featured artists on the The Daily Reel allows us to reach a broader audience with our mission and signals the beginning of a powerful series of co-produced videos like ‘Bodega.’”
