Nokia, the world's largest cellphone manufacturer, announced that they are throwing the hat in to the mobile marketing arena by purchasing Enpocket, a boston based mobile ad serving company.
This marks a big step for Nokia as this will help them blur the line between product and service provider. It also puts them in a position to compete with Google, Yahoo! and content providers such as Viacom, Disney and Warner Bros.
This is a big development in the mobile space. To read more about the acquisition check out AdWeek's Article. I predict we will begin to see many more deals like this; which will help phone manufactures control the mobile experiences in a much tighter relationship with its consumer.
